Don't let toxic perfectionism stop you from enjoying the festive season

A webinar with

Harriet Waley-Cohen

Thursday 10 December @ 2pm GMT

‘I want everything to be perfect for Christmas/Hanukah so we all have an amazing celebration.’

‘Unless everything is the same as it always is, with the same people I love doing the same thing we always do, it’s going to be a horrible December. I am dreading it.’

‘The food I make has to be perfect or I’m a failure’

‘I have to give the best gifts this year and everyone has to love them’

‘It’s just not the same without…insert whatever you’ve been telling yourself you 100% need to have a good December’

Do any of these sound familiar? With 2020 almost behind us, and the pandemic still going on even though vaccines are on the way, this December and festive season won’t be the same as it usually is.

No parties, people we can’t see because of travel or lockdown restrictions, various states of lockdown making shopping difficult, and of course, grief for a totally plan b year and for many people, the people that are no longer with us.

Perfectionism turns toxic when the standards we set for ourselves and our lives are unobtainable. It can steal our potential for feeling optimistic or happy in the moment, as make as make us feel low, anxious and simply not good enough. In this way it creates a huge barrier to confidence, wellbeing and success.

This year has been hard enough without the toxic side of perfectionism robbing your festive season. Wouldn’t it be wonderful to feel more in control and enthusiastic about the month ahead, and good about yourself?

In this webinar you will learn:

  • What toxic perfectionism looks and feels like, so that you can recognize it if it tries to creep in and spoil your December
  • What you can do to get back in control so that you feel differently and can enjoy the weeks ahead
  • The behaviours that will hinder and support you through the coming weeks
  • Why reviewing your year in a balanced way rather than only seeing the disappointments is going to set you up for a much more successful start to 2021 so that you can go after the goals you want to achieve.

This will be interactive and you will leave with practical tips you can put into practice right away.
