99% of us have an inner critic. It’s limiting, exhausting and relentless, stealing your happiness, presence and future. 

 

I get it. My head used to be such a dark place back in my teens and early 20s that I went to extreme lengths to block out my thoughts and feelings of shame, using drink and drugs to the point where it almost killed me. Perhaps you also do things that you know aren’t good for you to escape from your head, but have no idea what you could do instead. It’s horrible feeling alone, embarrassed and like you can be your own worst enemy.

It really doesn’t have to be like that. In fact, I no longer have an inner critic. These days I have an inner cheerleader, a supportive, kind and forgiving voice inside that only wants the best for me. I want you to know that it truly is possible to take control of your thoughts and be on your own side. It is more than possible for you to be have a future full of self-belief, energy and success. 

The first step is deeply understanding your inner critic, so that it can no longer sneak up on you and take back control without you realising. After that, it is essential to get clarity on what your life would be like (hint – utterly amazing!) with an inner cheerleader instead of a critic running the show, so that you are fired up to create that life for yourself.
