Enrollment ends on Friday, February 25 @ 6pm GMT
On the outside, it might look like you’ve got it all going on. Other people see a successful, likeable, confident person who is going places, and you work damn hard to keep up that appearance and make sure no one thinks badly of you.
But on the inside, it’s a totally different story.
Every day is a struggle, a battle against a mean, bullying voice in your head that reflects your nagging self-doubt.
‘Why did you say that? Everyone thinks you’re stupid.’
‘You’ll fail. There’s no point trying.’
‘You’re old/fat/ugly and no one will ever find you attractive.’
‘No one means it when they say you’ve done well, anyone could do what you did.’
‘You’re a terrible partner/friend/parent.’
‘You don’t deserve treats or nice things for yourself. Spend the money on everyone else instead.’
If this is the reality of what goes on in your head, I’m so sorry. It’s exhausting, relentless and it might well be affecting many areas of your life from your career, your relationships, your wellbeing and of course your confidence.

Speaking up for yourself is hard when there’s a voice in your head telling you that you don’t deserve to stand up for yourself or that your ideas are stupid.
Toxic people will get away with treating you badly again and again and you’ll give people far too many chances, because you’re far more concerned with needing them to like you than what is right for you.
You’ll talk yourself down by brushing off your successes, not being able to accept compliments and thinking your friends are taking pity on you and don’t really want you around.

Your health and energy will suffer from an unloving critic deciding what you can eat and how much exercise you have to do to punish yourself for how you look.
Your romantic life will be suffering too. Intimacy will be affected by worrying about your body, your attractiveness and whether you’re any good in bed, and dating will suffer from being worried about your value.
Anxiety and feeling low have become regular features, because your inner critic makes you worry much of the time or feel low about what you have to offer and your future.
Making decisions will be really difficult because of fear of getting it wrong.

Your career will not be flourishing the way it could be, because of not pushing yourself forwards, taking on too much to try to impress people and ending up burnt out and resentful, and letting others walk all over you. You might be overlooked for promotion because others can sense your lack of self-belief and hesitancy with decision making.
Your ability to plan for the future will be suffering. Your critic tells you not much is possible for you at all, because failure and rejection might well be around every corner so why even bother moving, setting goals and having dreams.
Your peace of mind will have vanished when your inner critic likes to give you the low down on all the ways you messed up during the day, sometimes even waking you up in the night to tell you how stupid or useless you were and make you cringe at yourself.

Your finances will be in bad shape because you are too generous to others to compensate for worrying they might not like you or could get upset with you. Plus you don’t feel confident enough to negotiate when it comes to salaries or bonuses, accepting what you’re given even when you suspect you deserve more. Then there’s all the money you spend on punishing diets and the like, to make you look more acceptable.
My dear. This truly sucks. Living like this is horrendous - I should know, because I had such a loud inner critic in my teens and early 20s that I tried to drown it out with drink and drugs. It didn’t work for long, and then the substances turned on me and I almost died in the grips of addiction. Even after getting sober at 26, it took a while before I cracked the code to mastering my inner voice, ditching my critic and welcoming in a totally different kind of voice.
These days, my inner critic is long gone. In its place is a cheerleader. A kind, supportive and forgiving voice that wants the best for me, believes in me and cheers me on every step of the way. When things don’t work out, I don’t give myself a hard time or lie awake at night turning things over and over in my head.
I want this for you. I want you to know your worth, stand up for yourself, dream big and go on to have huge success, unshakeable confidence and true wellbeing. Most of all, no matter what your critic says to you, you really deserve to be happy, to feel good about yourself and to bring your dreams into a reality. You deserve to be on your own side all the time, to have an inner cheerleader.

Life changing for me!
Definitely sign up! I had been in therapy for years, but had never managed to self soothe, or even be nice to myself. Something has shifted now after taking Harriet’s Inner Critic Course. The techniques and knowledge I learnt have enabled me to learn not to listen to my inner critic and create a kind, healthy and positive life, including a kinder, more positive relationship with myself.

Hi, I'm Harriet
Hunted down to speak for audiences including Microsoft, Sky, and Invesco, Harriet has empowered thousands of people over the last 18 years to believe in themselves and their potential.
She has been through multiple transformations and knows what it takes to make deep rooted changes that stick, and to get through tough times and come out the other side stronger and wiser than ever.
Harriet's mission is to make sure women know their true value and can make the impact they want to make in the world. She knows how vital it is that the cultural conditions in organisations and in society at large are supportive; empowering women from the bottom up will not be enough without big picture change.
Harriet takes an intersectional feminist approach to DEI from the top down through facilitating discussion; simultaneously, from the bottom up, Harriet is masterful in empowering women to leave behind self-doubt, sabotaging patterns and overwhelm in favour of new ways of thinking, feeling and acting that uplevel their confidence and wellbeing. As a result, women own their brilliance and succeed.
She is described by Vanessa Vallely OBE, MD of WeAreThe City as ‘a real superwoman who empowers others wherever she goes.’
Harriet won Best Storyteller and Most Memorable Speaker at The UK Female Speakers Conference in 2019, and was also given an award for leadership in the world by The Network for Transformational Leaders.
She is a certified Health Coach (IIN), Women’s Leadership Coach (One of many), an accredited VictimFocus trainer, and has a B.Sc. in Psychology.
